Plane

Airports you may fly to are:

• Heathrow Take the Heathrow Express to Paddington (the only stop) and then a cab, or the Underground.
• Gatwick Take the Thameslink to Kings Cross.
• Stansted Take the train to Liverpool Street and the Circle/Metropolitan Line of the Underground to Kings Cross.
• London City Take the Docklands Light Railway to Bank, the Northern Line of the Underground to Kings Cross.

Train

Stations you may arrive at are:

• Kings Cross Station, Euston Station or Kings Cross Thameslink Station Go on foot.
• Victoria Take the Victorial Line of the Underground to Euston or Kings Cross.
• Charing Cross Take the Northern Line of the Underground to Euston.
• London Bridge Take the Northern Line of the Underground to Kings Cross.
• Waterloo Take the Northern Line of the Underground to Euston.

Underground

Nearest stations you may arrive at are:

• Euston Northern and Victoria lines.
• Kings Cross Northern, Piccadilly, Victoria, Circle/Metropolitan/Hammersmith and City lines.

Routes can be planned using the French RATP Web site (it is in English). London Transport does not yet have a journey planner (but watch this space) though it does have Underground maps as PDF files.

Accomodation

A limited number of bedrooms are available at the Shaw Park Plaza Hotel at the special rate of £130 (inclusive of VAT and breakfast) for a superior room, £145 (inclusive of VAT and breakfast) for an executive room and £165 (inclusive of VAT and breakfast) for a business room. Bookings should be made direct with the hotel, quoting the Design for usability Conference.

If you want to eat in the area you could do worse than consult Harden's Guide, compiled from reviews by real people, or the London Evening Standard’s This Is London Web site derived from the newspaper’s regular reviewers. The Shaw Park Plaza is located between Central, North and East London. Unfortunately neither of these guides allows for searches ‘near to’ a given location.
